Poor and happy...
So Fearless Leader of Team Kobayashi is a pretty big geek. Yesterday he told me he'd heard rumors of the Manga Souka down in Miyakonojou having changed locations and expanded considerably. He'd heard good things... so Kouhai and I took the hour drive with him today to check it out.
The new building used to be a hardware store. It's that big. It's less a manga souka and more an all-purpose used-items shop with sections for clothes, video games, CD's, DVD's, electronics, and collectables. Oh and an arcade. And ... you know, manga. It was the biggest warehouse of its kind I've ever seen.
I stepped into the toy section to find a screen playing the W movie, a wall of helms, and a radio cheerfully boosting the soundtrack to Super Sentai Spirits of the ages. I was doomed. The Hibiki section (yes *section*) had disc creatures, and as I contemplated whether or not I really needed disc creatures, "Shounen Yo!" came on the radio. Screw it. I had filled a basket and had to call V1 to get her to talk me down and keep me from buying products in boxes which while claiming to be Dekaranger provided no actual clue as to their content. When the damage was done, I walked out with:
1. 4 disc figure key chains,
2. A set of Gekiranger chibi's
3. A Zanki figurine
4. A disc frog
5. A set of KRW Gaia Memory Pens (Heat/Metal)
6. A Momotaros curtain set
7. 2 tenipuri bromides (A sparkly Ibu Shinji and a HouseFrau Mizuki)
8. A set of Hakkai/Goyjo postcards.
Plus a disc creature, Bouken Blue keychain, and Momotaros curtan for V1. All total, my bill came to 6440. I regret nothing.
