The commentaries have been a bit lacking due mostly to the fact that I can't be bothered. I've been attempting to write more original stuff lately, so the blog has suffered. Along with that, it's farewell party/welcome party season which comes right on the heels of graduation party season, so I keep getting invited place. I decided to take the morning off for some mental health time. And what's more mentally healthy than a fandom catch-up.
While I didn't really believe a whole lot going on in the last couple of het episodes (other than Chiaki needing to not lose to a girl in front of Takeru), Shinken still pleases me. The mecha, on the other hand, are going for the lamest mecha ever award. Kabuto mecha was bad, but this swordfish... Everyone remembers GekiSharkTouja, right? It won lamest mecha in Gekiranger. Why are we doing GekiSharkTouja again only with a compensation sword coming out of his head? *facepalm*
I know this was supposed to be a Ryuunosuke episode, but Chiaki's entrance to save Tono really stole the show for me. In other news, I actually thought of Ryuunosuke as Ryuunosuke most of this episode and not as Aiba in a shinkenjacket. Well done, Aiba-chan. I've almost accepted you as a sentai hero. However, beware of old fisherman trying to pick you up, ok?
Speaking of the old fisherman, I kinda liked that plot twist. I thought he was a prior shinkenger, but no, a prior servant in black. The servants have backstory. Neat. Keep up the chanbara shinkenger
Ryuuki world did nothing to impress me besides making me go, "Woah, Decade. Even your cameos are overtly slashy. Blade is kinda fun though. I was impressed enough by little Blade-kun to watch the first ep of his show which is so far better than Decade. However, 8 should have been a great episode. It wasn't, and the reason was Tsukasa. There were some *funny* lines, some humorous situations, and his acting was so wooden and unbelievable that it ruined them. The whole time, I sat there thinking, "If this were Hiro Mizushima..." or "That line would have been great had Yuichi said it..." Not a good sign show.
I still like the theme though. *ruffles Kamen Gackt*
Well, it was cute. I had some fun watching it, and I sorely missed all my Gekirangers with one rhino-shaped exception. However, I was sorely disappointed by the lack of points between either of my Geki-OTP's. Instead we get the brothers Fukami dancing on pianos... who writes this crap? Also if we're going to all the trouble to bring Rio and Mele back from the dead, why can't we keep them? Unfair and stupid.
Long is now a batcrapcrazy skankho. Fun.
On the Go-On side, at least Hanto and Renn are still happily married. You guys don't let Chopper get too close, mkay?
How come we didn't get any Geki background music, though? Don't the versus series usually split the bgm's? I wanted some Kageki.
At first I was really excited to hear there'd be more Den-o. I'm now starting to think Den-o should be perfectly preserved and never touched again. It's not even the Imagin-possessed Castle Doran crew that scare me (Although, I really don't want Urataros and Matsuda Kenji linked in my brain... I really don't). It's the Sieg!Tsukasa. I love Sieg. I have multiple Sieg figurines because he's just that great. Major major Sieg love. And Sieg (and all the imagin) worked because Sato Takeru is an extremely talented actor. Tsukasa's guy is not. He's awful. He won't be able to be this character, period. And I will have to kill him.
Also there is no picture of Takeru or Yuichi in any of the adds I've seen. If they're not in this movie and we get the Decade team instead, I can't deal with that. I'd be okay with an Imagin movie, cuz I know Takeru's a busy little primetime start now (though Yuichi's not so get him back in the Deneb hair). Even an Imagin and Doori movie would be okay. Hell, make this Naomi and the Imagin's Coffee Adventure. But not Imagin and Tsukasa. I won't accept that, guys. That's what will kill my support of the greatest Kamen Rider Ever.
At least the gashapon machines should fill up with Imagin, again...
And in a different language, X-family is great but unfairly makes you wait 21 episodes for Calvin. Not cool. I love Danson a lot, though.
Right, I said I was only allowed to take the day off if I used it to get stuff done, so it's off to the post office with me. *hugs everyone cuz she knows lots of people are having a miserable week*
