This Week in Fandom + Bonus Birthday Celebrations
Tomorrow is my birthday, but since we're both working type folk, V1 and I went to the zoo to celebrate today. Of course, we watched sentai first...
Where has all my service gone? It makes me sad... Not that I'm not still really really enjoying this show, but this episode was mostly "How Hanto is really that much cuter than Saki." And it's true. Renn and Gunpei ally to save their Hanto. Saki is crap. And I want those standees at the end. All of them.
But ENJIN NUMBA 2!!! The Bus-on dance is if possible more adorable than the speedor dance. Little jazz hands and flips! So cute!
I've also decided that Speedor/Sousuke is my real GO-TP. I need this icon.
For about 5 minutes, I entered true fangirl panic when I thought Jiro was going to die. "He can't die," says V1, "He's Zanki! Oh... wait." But it looks like he's fine.
Meanwhile, the triangle grows. At first Nago seems all supportive of Wataru's hobby, then he punches Kumai in the head. Bad, possessive Nago. And the scarf bandage? Okay, how Usagi/Mamoru is that? But why did the scarf have to fall off the bike! Come on! FIGURE IT OUT, NAGO!!! And quit allying with creepy fangaia. It's stupid.
Seto's insta-rock out may be my new favorite moment on the show. It's so... Kazuki. And adorable. Could only be more adorable if you put a Kivat next to him. Ikemens rules. Nago, the crazier you get, the more I'm supporting Kumai.
I saw Pallas' cats! Okay I've been going to this same zoo for some 16 years. I have never seen the Pallas' cats. I was pretty sure the zoo just left the sign for them up and never had any to begin with. Today, 2 Pallas' cats were out and grooming and meowling and occasionally hissing at one another. For those not in the know, a Pallas' cat is a small Asiatic mountain cat about which almost nothing is known. They have flat ears and beards and are extremely cute. I know this now, because I've seen them.
Also, the baby tamarins are now big enough to be seen hopping about nervously. And the red river piglets lost their spots. There's a new baby bongo too. So very cute. And Dennis the secretary bird is still working towards his escape. And Jaguar-kun was playing with string, so I guess Sen is descended from him after all.
All in all, an excellent zoo trip. V1 bought me a Pallas' cat plushie and then we ate pizza and far far far too much brownie. Then we started the Bouken data (Akashi/Masumi leaps into the lead if you're wondering).
Tomorrow is my real birthday for which my parents are taking me out. S2 is also having a party for me and S1 sometime this week I think. By party I mean, "Game Night with Cake" which is my favorite kind of party. Oh, and my Kaylee cosplay for Starfest is almost complete. I require a teddy bear patch and I'm set.
Now, however, I'm exhausted and a bit sunburned and I don't want to work tomorrow and I certainly don't want a new student tomorrow, but there's not much choice. Ganbaru-Ou.
