The proliferation of real-crime TV shows (and our fascination watching 'em) leads to a lot of interesting discussions at our house. Last night we (Holly, myself, and the cats) were relaxing in bed.* I was reading a book ("A Tour of the Calculus") and Holly was on her laptop answering emails from Avon Reps. "Forensic Files" was on TV...a story about how a woman attempted to poison her husband with castor beans, which contain ricin...
Me: "Wow, castor beans contain ricin?!... I'm surprised something as poisonous as castor beeans are even allowed to be sold!"
Holly: "Yeah, me too."
Me: "I mean, I wonder where a person could even buy 'em?"
Holly [clicking away on her laptop keyboard]: "...I'm checking into that right now." *smirk*
Me: "Ha ha, very funny... Buy me some, would you?" *snicker*
Holly: "Oh, I was planning on it." *grin*
* Remember that scene at the end of "Young Frankenstein" where Frankenstein and his bride are in their pj's relaxing in bed and he's reading the newspaper? That could be us. :)
