Wow...now I'm spooked.

I just read The Gift before this, which was lovely. This started out very nice, but now I'm spooked! Did Daniel take Penny??? Argggh.

It was so nice at the beginning, hearing about Desmond and Penny's life now, but then she supposedly disappeared. Eeek! Can't wait to read more. :D

Thanks! Sorry to spook you, but I'm glad you enjoyed the nice parts. It was fun to give hints of their happiness before things went to hell. I hope to have more soon.

Oh wow, this is wonderful and completely evil. For ending where it ended of course, not for anything else ;)

Seriously, this was great. I loved how you fleshed out their new life in the beginning. Them staying in Tierra Del Fuego is such a fascinating idea and the descriptions in the first part were great. Desmond doing manual labor kind of sent me half over the edge and the idea of him speaking Spanish was enough to satisfy the squeeing part of yours truly, but then that scene where he finds out that Penny has disappeared is just great. I mean, I could feel his level of worry rise like I was there with him. Also,

Strains of Mozart’s symphony no. 40 greet him when he unlocks the door

uhm, much squeeing from here? ;)

The part where he calls Widmore was a great touch and I guess that if The Gift is the prologue he doesn't have much to do with whatever happened. Also,

Her coats hang in front hall closet and all her shoes are lined up at the door. It’s the last detail that just about breaks his heart, that she is somewhere in this ( ... )

Thanks Janie! So far I've written 3 different scenarios about where they up - Philippines, Caribbean and Argentina. I think the latter was most interesting, especially because it presents a pretty picture of cowboy/Spanish speaking/sheep talking Desmond. Plus I'm sure he looks just as nice bundled up as he does buttoned down. After reading Make Your Own Kind of Music recently, I can give you credit for the Mozart bit. I had a lump in my throat over the shoe bit. If life continues to cooperate I hope to post a part once a week.

Thank you! I'm so happy you liked it. That would be a twist to have it be Riddle's Diary!

But it's just like Riddle's diary! ;)

Is it? I don't remember much from that book. I had to Google your reference to make sure I was correctly thinking of Harry Potter. It wouldn't be the first time I've subconsciously ripped something off!

Lovely, atmospheric fic. I really felt for Desmond over his unfounded worry building up to the discovery of his missing Penny. Because of my perverted mind, I found the sofa giving evil hints of what might have happened to Penny--or maybe it was just Daniel's name in the character list and my fondness for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. (As soon as the sofa appeared, I was (mis)quoting: "Eddies in the space-time continuum." "And this is his sofa?") I'll look forward to future installments.

Your kind words mean a lot. Nothing perverted about the couch thankfully, but everything gets a little weirder when Daniel is involved, doesn't it. Hopefully he brings his towel whenever he time travels. Thanks for reading!

Eeep! Disappeared Penny and Daniel's notebook - what an intriguing combination! I like the couch and how he is so determined to free it and set it on its way and then, once that task is done, he's filled with foreboding.

Eeep! I know! I'm trying to stay spoiler free so I'm sorry I haven't read your latest fic. But I do know a little but - is it just in reference to the video? Thanks for reading.

If you've seen the video and know what the other guy is, then my fic is safe to read, cause beyond that it's just my own speculation.
