Lost 4.04 Eggtown

Feb 21, 2008 23:18

This week’s Lost was a bit of a let down after last week’s, but I think any episode containing naked assassin Sayid, Ben masquerading as both Jason Bourne & Dr. Dolittle, with special appearances by a cow, Sawyer’s boots and bossy Desmond would be tough to follow.

Still the episode definitely managed to keep my interest. I have always had ambivalent feelings toward Kate, mainly because of the bloody love triangle. I feel I should like her for being tough and independent but I get easily frustrated by her coyness. Thankfully the first two qualities dominated tonight’s episode.

I feel like I've been reading Kate or Kate/Jack raise Aaron fic for months which led me to speculate halfway through who the baby could possibly be, only because on Lost the answer is never that simple. But the ending still came as a shock as my husband could attest from me slapping his arm repeatedly.

I think we can all agree there has to be some pretty extraordinary circumstances that leads to Kate raising Aaron. I look forward to seeing how this comes about. Does Aaron count as the 5th member of the Oceanic 6?

Highlights
  • Jack denying knowing Mars. That was the perfect example of how twisted their version of what happened is. His apparent guilt over Aaron cemented this.
  • Charlotte’s test seemed to imply Daniel has memory problems. Interesting! Could this relate to him not knowing why the Oceanic crash footage made him cry?
  • Sawyer and Hurley as roomies! Xanadu!
  • Charlie would be pleased to know toddler Aaron still has a giant head.
  • How Kate’s con went down played on everyone’s strengths and weaknesses nicely.
  • Hi Jin and Sun!
  • 3.2 million?
  • I guess going back to the island would be a serious parole violation.

 Concerns
  • Seriously, Locke? This is how you are protecting the island? That grenade better turn out to be a dud or you have lost me. Can Boone show up soon to kick some sense back into him? Hanging out with Giant Ghost Walt has turned him mean.
  • It’s great to know however far in the future the love triangle remains unresolved.
  • Sawyer should have be handled the baby thing a lot better but he has proven over and over how much he cares for Kate. It riles me to see how things were left between them. If there was ever a time for these two to have an adult conversation… On the other hand they do snuggle together so nicely.
  • Um, Sayid and Des, where are you?
  • It seems everyone  is going a good job about forgetting Charlie.

CTV has the worst previews. All I could make out was a lot of yelling but it looks like I should be very excited about next week’s episode.
