OMG I love this. I love little Nicky. He's sharp and angry but he's still a little cocky and hopeful, he hasn't had the shine knocked out of him yet. This is really brilliant, fits nicely into canon.

This is really brilliant - the characterisation of a younger Rush, ever-so-slightly less hardened and cynical, but still as prickly and blunt (and badass, it has to be said) as we know (and love) him, is spot-on, and I really like how you showed the early stages of his detachment from everyone around him. I would definitely read more prequel-Rush fics from you! (/hint :P)

I'm thinking of doing the 14-year-old Rush gets a tattoo story that I mentioned in The Greater Good. I don't normally like kidfic because it's all generally very cutesy, though.
