Another day, another dollar...

Nothing vastly interesting or new to say. Work is the same, though we'll be losing our counter manager soon and hopefully getting a new(equally competent) one pdq after that. One of my other coworkers is having some health problems and has not been quite herself in some time. Honestly I hope she'll be able to fully recover and be back to her old self soon but I'm not holding my breath, it has been a slow decline. Though she is in my prayers.

Been recently addicted to Cracked.com and spent an embarrassing ammount of time on the site being completely enthralled and entertained by the writers who produce such articles as "6 Supervillain Devices You Can Make At Home" and "7 Movies That Ignored World-changing Discoveries". These are my people. LOL

I did witness a random act of kindness at work the other day and think I'll share it here. It's so nice to be reassured that those good people are out there somewhere and will hopefully survive the zombiepocalypse with you.

I had a lady at the counter trying to decide what she wanted to purchase so she'd qualify for the free gift(don't get me started on that oxymoron). As she debated and seemed genuinely distressed that her favorite perfume had gone up in price significantly there was another woman at the counter finishing her trnasaction and getting ready to leave.

Once out of view of my customer she asked me if I'd be so kind as to ring up the older lady's purchase on her own credit card and not tell her who paid for it. She did not want to be thanked, but just do something nice for the lady who reminded her of her mom. Obviously a woman who instilled wonderful values in her daughter.*applauds*

I agreed to do as she asked but when questioned by my customer merely explained someone wanted to treat her and didn't want to be thanked for it. The older lady then said she wondered if she did in fact know her benefactress who would be aware that she had lost her daughter recently.*cue teary self*

How about that? God works in mysterious ways, and through people every day and manages to bring a little sunshine into peoples lives and inspire them to also pass on some kindness. I'm going to do something similar this week, if not with money than with my time and I hope some of my lj friends will be inspired to do the same. Thanks for the idea Ms.Moore, I sincerely wish good things for you, what you did wasn't huge but it made someone's day brighter and made me thankful to be a part of it.

Awesome.
