It feels like I've been working a lot lately. I've hardly had the chance to read my friends list, much less update my own journal! And when the highlight of my working week has been "omg Cameron Diaz came into our store!!", well...let's just say I'm glad I finally have the day off. (And yes, Cameron Diaz actually did come into my Trader Joe's the other day. I didn't see her because I was, conveniently, on my lunch break. But everyone else did and that's all I heard about the rest of the day. Apparently, she a. is very cute; b. is much shorter than everyone expected; and c. drives a hybrid car).
Anyways, now that I have the day off, I'm doing pretty much nothing, because it's my day off and I can. When Julie gets home from school this evening we're going out to dinner to The Spot in Hermosa. Vegan food and swinging on the swings at the beach! Right now my only other plan for the day involves reading more of Naked by David Sedaris, which I have out from the library right now.
It feels like we're really starting to enter the countdown to our move now, as we're realizing how fast it's coming up. We're still mainly in the starting-to-sort-and-get-rid-of-things stage. I'm still debating about when to tell my managers I want a transfer. My next review is coming up in May, and I'm hoping for a good raise. Julie and I have been telephone-conferencing/emailing the girl who we are likely to move in with - it sounds like she has a rad old house with lots of space. Also, she's vegan, she's interested in gardening, composting, recycling, and stuff like that. Let's just say we're really hoping this works out.
