Hey, this was written for one of the prompts I submitted for Multiverse! It struck me at the time as a potentially interesting combination, and you've definitely proved that to be true, which makes me very happy. You've come up with a good way of bringing the two universes together, and the characters feel right. Especially Crichton, who is very much the hardened S4 Crichton, poor guy.

Heya :) Glad you approve! I know I was worried about not "getting" the characters. Although I used to be able to "hear" John Crichton in my head I was so immmersed, it's been a while now, lol. And, while I used to know every nook and cranny of FS, I don't actually own the Torchwood DVDs and had to rely on repeats and memory!

And after re-reading a bit, I find myself wanting to expand on some elements, and segue better and change the pacing in others, which I didn't have time to by the due date. I may actually do that, after a bit of time has passed to get me better perspective!

But I'm glad the premise worked for you, and that Crichton did sound right. I was definitely going for the hardened S4 effect!

Oh, Ellie. This was faboo!!!

The opening read perfectly like an ep of Torchwood, with bonus John being captured and interrogated AGAIN, and it's not even his Earth. *sniff*

And Jack & Ianto on their date (!!!). Really, you had everything in this story - drama, angst, h/c, action, scifi, het, slash, humor, and a wee bit of horror to keep things suspenseful (Scarran roadkill, ew!). I loooooved the interaction between Jack & John, and the relationship angst bonding between John & Ianto. Everyone's voice was just spot-on.

Brilliant!

Hee! So glad you liked it! It was fun to write, even though frustrating at times (as these things can be, lol). Also glad you thought the voices were right - it was quite a novelty for me to be writing Brits talking, as opposed to Americans! Even though I am English and not Welsh, it was fun :)

Hey! I was recced here by troyswann, and I thought this was great - a fun idea, very well executed. Possibly what I liked the most was what a difference an alternative perspective makes: compared to its parent show, Torchwood seems incredibly dark and cynical, but compared to Farscape (especially around season 4) it's damn near kittens and rainbows. John's reaction to people actually trying to help him rather than mess with him was... well, really lovely, in a kind of heartbreaking way.

Thank you! Gald you liked it! Love your description of Torchwood being almost rainbows and kittens compared to FS. FS may have been wacky and funny with a healthy dose of toilet humour, but it was heavily laced with angst, torture and mistrust as well. I liked the idea of showing S4 John, who has been through so much, against the backdrop of these wisecracking Cardiff folks. The team (not so much Jack, mind you) must have seemed near babes-in-arms compared to his experiences - and they still have their home planet to run around on. Poor John!

What a wonderful entrance for John. I could hear his voice in my head. Excellent characterizations.

Thank you! Glad to know the characterisations are coming across ok. I used to know Crichton like the back of my hand, and was worried I might have lost his voice, since I last wrote FS fic!

Great fun! You've got the voices down pat and the two worlds come together really nicely knock and spin away again, leaving their marks on each other. I think Jack and John could have some really interesting conversations about their respective roller coasters. And Ianto is terrific here with his sotto voce commentary. But it was Constables Anderson and Jones who caught me and hooked me good, especially Anderson and her flashlight maneuver.

Heh! Good old Anderson and Jones! I figure they've had to pick up the pieces after Torchwood adventures before, and thus are totally unimpressed by any alien shenanigans. Them and their poor Sergeant, lol. And even if John hadn't, ahem, fainted, Anderson would have still taken him down ( ... )
