I usually don't do this kind of posts, but I really have to this time because Heroes is freakin' awesome and I feel like speculating a bit.
So if you haven't watched the last episode or the promo for next week, turn around and come back when you're ready to read.
Saying that last week's episode was great would be an understatement. The whole Petrelli awesomeness really got me excited, specially the parts with Angela and Peter in the church. The fact that our beloved Angie was showing some weakness, that she really showed her true self was great for her character. Thanks to Fuller. I mean,I'm tremendously sorry for Pushing Daisies, but his return to Heroes is a blessing. Not only he's bringing in some great actors (Swoozie Kurtz anybody?), but he's bringing the show back on track. And finally we have some depth in the characters. Angela's journey in Into Asylum was the one of a woman who finally realizes that she needs help, that she can't do everything alone and sometimes actions, even when acting for good, don't always turn out the way you expected. That and her confession to Peter was essential and the end of the episode, with that tremendously '60s song, kinda let us believe she was starting to find some peace just as much as the parallel with Nathan and Claire did.
But we're on Heroes and things aren't this simple. So the mention of a sister and the pics of Alice that popped out last week really made me hope we could have found out more about Angie's past this time. We'd discovered she wanted to be a teacher and this week I wanted more. But we didn't get it. Still the episode was super! Ando and Hiro were a crack up, but what really made me a superhappy fangirl was the whole Sandra/Noah storyline. Crow and Coleman are such great actors and they have a wonderful chemistry and really, when fake!Sandra asked him to sign the divorce papers my heart broke. Then, when he threatened her and then realized she was the real Sandra, my heart stopped. There was so much pain in their eyes, so many unspoken truths and neglected feelings...and I'm afraid I'm gonna ship another OTP, even if right now I really don't need to ship another couple in an obsessive way. Not after what Gordon&co. did with Bill and Karen (kleenex, please!).
Anyway, the ending was freakin' awesome once again. But first, I have to mention Angie's "Noah!" into that poor phone! It was really chilling. And for a moment I imagined that same yell in other situations...like Angela scolding Nathan or Peter when they were kids...and I really didn't want to be in their shoes. Period.
Back to the ending. I expected to meet Auntie Alice, but I guess we have to wait another week. Still those skulls really intrigued me. And what on earth happened there if even Chandra knew of that place? Some sort of massacre? 'Cause it looked like Texas Chainsaw Massacre for a second. I don't think it's Angie's family. I mean, even if they were special, why not burying them in a cemetery? I think it's something way more complicated and extremely creepy. If it wasn't, Angela wouldn't look so shattered (how many of you adored comforting Claire?). Moreover, from the promo for 1961 it seems Angela didn't expect to find Alice there.
I'm really annoyed because they casted Laura Marano to play little Alice( GG fans can imagine why. She's identical to her sister and I've always hated April!), but she was perfectly creepy when she told Angela to look out for Suresh. And finally we know why Cristine had to make her hair grow so much. The dramatic effect is all there and
thepandorarose was right once again. How cool was that image of Angela with wild hair and terrified face? Now I only hope she won't bite the dust. I don't think she will, but after all those spoilers and Kring confirming there's one more death before the volume ends, I'm a bit worried. The rational part of them tells me it can't be her because she's still essential and everyone loves Cristine, but the still shocked fangirlish part of me tells me to be prepared because even if they adore a character and an actor, they won't hesitate to kill him/her off for dramatic purposes only. And Kring said that said death will be shocking and surprising and that someone will "die in a very interesting way or maybe not" so what could be more interesting than Angela dishing out all her secrets and then dying to save her family, redeeming herself and finding some peace? Not to mention all the consequences for her sons! So I'll be scared till I see her in the new volume.
On a brigther note, Beeman has some great pics on his blog as usual. There's one of Angela that's fantastic! And one of Cristine celebrating her birthday!
HERE As usual, I got carried away. Another thing, not Heroes related. I watched 15x22 of L&O last Sunday and Jayne was in it!!! She was absolutely awesome and she had such great outfits! A pity it was on Italian TV and it was dubbed...and it's impossible to find it on the net. Does any of you, Jayne's fans on my flist, have it?
