valentine's turned out to be great for my brother..so it seems. his girlfriend loved the surprise (i really like her..she's nice and i'm glad my brother found this one..i hope she's a KEEPER!). it was a candlelight dinner for 6 couples (i know its cliché but that's what he wanted, yours truly set up the entire thing with the mood and ambience & so and so). flowers galore, garden theme with a grill to cook their food and wine & champagne..the WORKS!!
for nessie, ina, & I..all was well too. our valentines' was different this time, unlike our full-blown SINGLES MADHATTER's PARTY last year. following through with what i said in my last entry we took our grandma out for dinner. it was happy!! hehehehe..on my grandma's part she was beyond HAPPY..she was OVERRRRJOYYED!!! well done, well done.
unfortunately, not everyone had a good time. let's just say my family is at a "trying time" right now. my mom and sis had a spat several days ago and they're not getting along at all. bummer!! what do they want us to do!? i really don't know..

my mind is wandering..i just realized i want soo bad to go watch JARS OF CLAY's concert this coming 2nd of March but i don't know if i have enough cash saved up. i'll think about that later on. other concerts playing live in Manila are NORAH JONES, USHER, & AVRIL LAVIGNE with SIMPLE PLAN. now you know why i'm in sucha dilemna.

i'm currently reading THE SWORD & THE SCIMITAR by david ball. its an extensive read..i'm not even half-way through it but the jist is, it's about the history of the ottoman empire vs. the christians..with three important characters placed in a winding maze of adventures & travels, and its soo culture-fetched. so far, its awesome!!

i've seen PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. i'm grateful that they stuck to the score, somehow. the music of that play still gives me goosebumps! the casting was appropriate for the film. they chose great actors/actresses who brought the essence of the story to life. the singing was tweaked to how it would sound like (thanks to the coaching/training of andrew loyd webber) but i think they could have done better. well, i'm only saying this cos' i actually prefer it on broadway. ANYTIME!! i was just curious how it would come out on the big screen. the costumes, make-up and choreography: outstanding!! as a whole, i think it would be 50/50 of good & bad reviews from several perspectives.

i had my pattern-making classes. i'm a bit confused (the terms and measurements, i was never good at math)..getting the hang of it but i think i'd be better in illustration and styling..but hey, i need to learn everything. yes, to be the best of the best!! it was fun..its always fun when its something you love despite the blank spaces in your head (effects of thinking numbers)..and the catching up (forgot to mention that, hehe)..my mates are a lesson ahead..they like to do extra work (and be realistic,i'm a working student). i've got loads of assignment but its cool. i've made my personal block and other sizes for my patterns. we're doing skirt patterns this time. i guess at home i'm pretty much more motivated. can't wait till my sewing class. and oh, textiles & garments is way interesting too (you get to play with your designs). HAHAHAHA!! ;)
nuestros negocios:
4 Girls & A Guy is slowly taking off. for the meantime it'll be a series of meetings with the partners. our first run (testing our personal creative expression/designs) will take place on the 2nd week of march. each partner has to create something they think is of their personal style and this'll be included in our 1st art exhibit/personal collection early of this year..that's if everything goes as planned (why am i being sucha pessimist!?) anyway, so far that's what we've got. day by day..little by little..we'll get there!!
yawwcch!!! i'm cramping. gadd, not today please. PMS alert...buh-bye...aargh..the pain..did not need to put this on...my...oh..i'm gonna snooze now..taking medication..need to lie....down...
