You Suck Computer! Times 2!

Don't buy Compaq or HP computers! At least if you are apt to customize them. Since buying my HP I have added a new graphics card, a new processor, and additional RAM.

The problem happened when I got a virus and blue screened. So I had to use the recovery disks to repair and it did all that. However, after restarting I got a message that said I had a "code purple," which means they want me to send the machine to the company. Apparently, when you do a recovery, Compaq and HP run a check on a code called a tattoo which basically confirms that the machine has not been altered. Of course mine was and so it didn't let me access Windows. From my research, it looks like only Compaq and HP do this.

My brother was able to remove my hard drive and connect it as an external hard drive to his computer. He then went in to delete that command so that it doesn't do the tattoo check anymore. It turns out that this command was in a hidden folder.

Everything is working now. I had to uninstall all the useless programs again and reinstall all the programs I needed. I also lost all my bookmarks. But at least I don't have to replace any parts or buy a new computer.

Needless to say, I will not be buying another HP because I definitely will be modifying my future computers.
