Martha Jones and more dead aliens.

The last few episodes of Torchwood seem all have common theme - dying aliens.

First in Meat they couldn’t manage to save that poor tortured whale-like creature.
Then they killed Adam.
Then in Reset alien torturing came to new levels with whole farm of test subjects.

Really it’s better to stay of Earth. Make me think maybe we deserve the Beth's commando team.

Maybe this explains lack of contact.

Wasn’t it one of John Crichton nightmares - that if he’ll bring Moya’s crew to Earth they get imprisoned in some lab and be tested on.

Isn’t is sad that all the contacts with alien lifeforms are either invasion by them or torture by us?

All this however is stomped by the awesomeness of Martha Jones. She just came and pawned everyone. And then has the best exchange ever with Gwen and Ianto.
And she’s all special inside. And working for Unit. And being a doctor.
Makes me want to be Martha Jones.

BTW Isn’t Tosh like cursed? Owen is another dead (almost) boyfriend.
Maybe it’s the almost that will help him (I’m sure he’ll be back).
