I wrote about past so now it's time to think about future - io9 has a list of
70 Science Fiction and Fantasy Movies to Watch Out for in 2012 to help with planning your last months before apocalypse.
Unfortunately only few of these are seem actually interesting. Chronicle might be my first "found footage" film but the premise makes me hope for big screen Misfits. In the battle of Snow Whites Hansel and Gretel look like the one I'm most likely to pick. I think I'll probably see some of the big ones - The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Dark Shadows, Brave - but it depends if I have time. I'll wait and see if Men in Black III, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter and Totall Recall are worth any attention. In fact the only ones I have high hopes for are Looper, Gravity and Upside Down because I love the concepts and the fact these are original ideas (not sequels, prequels, remakes, retellings or adaptations). My other sure pick are the films that aren't on the list. I loved the trailer of Aardman's new The Pirates! In an adventure with Scientists! and The Knights of Badassdom if they ever get a release. Then I can join the storm on the cinemas to see The Hobbit just before the world ends. And maybe if the real one doesn't come I will go and watch the zombie apocalypse.
So how about you?
