SETI has lost much of it's funding and it's closing down its main radiotelescope array. For years SETI got most of its budget from NASA and  the National Science Foundation but due to budget cuts the SETI project founding has been drastically reduced. They need 5 million $ for Allen Telescope Array operation cost. Some of their budget comes from privet donations e.g. Paul Allen but unless someone is willing to donate millions of dollars this is it. For all those years SETI was based just on hope but now as the evidence of extrasolar planets is drowning us the financial crisis has brought them down. I never really believed they will find something - it is very arbitrary and small range they are looking at - but I believe we need to keep trying as it's dreams that lead to future advances.

China presented its plans for their own space station. It will be made up of three capsules - first one will be the core module and then two experiment modules will dock to it. There will be also a special cargo spaceship developed to transport supplies. It will be smaller then both ISS and Mir but still it will be the third module space station in human history. Fourth ever. I hope for another space race - maybe it speed the space exploration a little bit.

And now it's time for the pretty - Andromeda Galaxy in whole electromagnetic spectrum:
