Flood

Weather changed into very rainy with occasional thunderstorms. On Friday it was also rather cold (12 oC during the day) except that one moment when the sun came out and it instantly got hot and humid which means summer didn't go far it just hiding behind the clouds. It rained through most of yesterday and although morning and evening today were pretty sunny it rained heavily today too (at one time part of Warsaw was experiencing a deluge). It also snowed in the mountains and in several places through out the country there was hail. Luckily it got warmer - warm, humid, stormy weather. Very summer like. And it's to be like this whole week - the rain I mean. On one hand it's good - there wasn't any for months and everything was so dry but on other I'm afraid that as before plants were dying of drought now they will start to rot.

To make it all worse today is Pentecost which is important enough holiday in Catholic church that it is a public holiday and a day off (for those who work on Sunday anyway) and all the stores, malls and cinemas etc are closed. And tomorrow is International Children's Day. There were to be fairs outside but, you know, storms. So what do you do with kids when it rains and everything is closed? Go to church? Or McDonald's (restaurants can be open)? Well it's supposed to be fun for the kids :P

Robinias and hawthorns are almost done with blooming - the heavy rain knocked flowers off the trees making it final (except the pink ones - pink variety of normally white blooming trees bloom a week or two later - true for horse chestnuts, hawthorns and robinias). Usually June is prettiest month as most flowers bloom then but now they are already blooming and I suppose they'd be gone by the middle of the month. The prettiest part was week ago. But the time for fruit starts and that's a good thing.
