I'm editing a novel for my friend, and it's making me want to bang my head against the wall so much. I'm amazed (and appalled) that she can have a MASSIVE amount of commas and still not have any in the correct places. And the semicolons, oh, the semicolons. If I never see another one, it'll be too soon! I don't know what a normal amount is, but so far I've made nearly 4000 corrections and have almost 200 comments, and that's only 70-some pages. I have 45 pages left to look at. I want to cry. There are content issues as well. On the plus side, it's sparking my muse a bit, because I KNOW I can write better than this. So my goal for the weekend is to write something, anything, even if it's only 100 words. Wish me luck!
