Brooklyn Happenings: Gaultier and 826NYC!!!

Feb 24, 2014 19:05

Wow, just saw the Gaultier show at Brooklyn Museum - what a crazy visual feast! Everything from punks to blood vessels to corsetry to the Virgin Mary to more punks to wow. So fascinating! Here are some sketches I did (watercolors applied afterwards - gotta play by the rules!)

By the way, folks, I can hardly believe it but my 826 NYC comics class starts THIS SUNDAY! I'm so excited to continue to work with this amazing organization. 826 provides workshops and afterschool help - for free - to kids throughout the five boroughs. I'll be teaching Draw Comics Like a Superhero, an exploration of methods of cartooning for kids ages 12-15. Please spread the word - first class is March 2nd! View the 826 workshop calendar here, and sign up (it's very easy!) here.

In other news I am penciling away furiously on Black Feather Falls: Book 3 - hope to present some shots from that soon! I'll be blogging about Book Two soon - you can order your copy from Soaring Penguin Press here: http://www.soaringpenguinpress.com/publications/periodicals/the-black-feather-falls-book-two/
