And also, "now why the hell can't I do that" frequently rattles around in there, too.
Have I ever mentioned to all y'all how much I love Gene Kelly?
I'm working to meet a crazy deadline. I will be up all night, after which I will be teaching preschool for the last time. I am annoyed by having to work all night, not because I'm up, but because I would rather be writing fiction than a manual that no one will ever read. And, I did tell them in January that the fact that we had absolutely no software at this point and the manual was due 31 August was making my stomach hurt. The first time I saw any application of any kind was two weeks ago; it is now two weeks until delivery and (say it with me) they are still coding.
At this point, there is not enough Jameson's in the world to make me feel better.
However, flipping through one of the zillion channels--we get 'em all--I came across That's Entertainment III, and life is once again worth living.
Now they're showing the amazing Kelly/Charisse 360-degree pas de deux from Brigadoon.
If they will only have the snippet from Singin' in the Rain of Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse dancing with the mile-long white scarf on the empty soundstage, my life will be complete.
