My life is at a kind of cross roads. Since I had my big birthday (30-big to me) recently and the fact that my job situation is up in the air, I've been thinking of a career change. Is anyone out there a bartender by any chance? My boyfriend and I were recently at our favorite watering hole and we were asking the bartender how she liked working there. She told us that she used to have a 9-5 kind of job and now she makes more bar-tending than she did at her 9-5 job. I'm not positive how many hours she gets at the pub but it made me start thinking. Maybe if my company were to go out of business it would be the push I need to go in a different direction with my life. I have a new house and my family is here so it can't be that drastic of a change, like I would want it to be. My boyfriend's company may be downsizing because the project he's been working on is about to be finished. I would love to pick up and move away for maybe a year. I don't know, I guess I'm just throwing some ideas around. I think it may be fun to bartend but I really have no idea because I have never done it nor have I ever waited tables. I put those both in the same kind of category only because of the hours not because I know any better.
I have attached a picture of my boyfriend and I on our hiking trip on Sunday. Of course the boys are there too. There was an odd bridge and a bunch of stairs, 175 to be exact, on our hike. The bridge was metal and had openings on the bottom for the water to run through and when the boys saw that they stopped in their tracks. We had to carry them all the way down. My boyfriend is such a good sport about things. He didn't even bat an eyelash when I told him we would have to carry them the rest of the way.
