It started early with a trip to Audible across the river in Newark, to meet some of the good people who helped make
Swordspoint audiobook such a success for
ACX - and to tour their supercool offices and eat unbelievable pastrami from Hobbie's Deli and discuss doing more books with them! Hope to have good news on that front soon.
Then my SueMedia pals dropped me at the GodBox - er, the Interfaith Center - back on 120th St., where I hand-carried the application form and CDs of
The Witches of Lublin to the offices of the
Religion Communicators Council to enter us in the competition for the Wilbur Awards. My national public radio program,
Sound & Spirit, won a couple of Wilburs, and I went & spoke at their annual conference . . . good folks. To my amazed delight, the woman in the office there recognized me and greeted me warmly. She hadn't realized I was in NYC now, and we had a lovely catch up. Even if we don't win a Wilbur (and they're darned
pretty awards, so I hope we do!), it was lovely to be back in touch with RCC.
Delia finally finished her QUEEN VICTORIA story, and handed it in, and is exhausted and knitting and making me read to her. I'd better get back to that.
