How much would you pay to hear
Peter S. Beagle read you
The Last Unicorn or A Fine & Private Place
aloud?

Yeah. I know.

There are also sample free downloads. And lots more stuff.

I am one of those who bought special editions way back in 2006, so at some point I will be getting download versions as well. Truly, I can't wait. He has written 3 books (at least) that have made me who I am.

I also have this -amazing- cassette of him performing songs and filk and who knows what, live. I wish I had the necessary tools to convert it to CD. If you can scare up a copy, I highly recommend it. (If I had anyway to duplicate it, I'd bring you a copy to WisCon.)

I think it's for sale on the same site, actually.

No, that's a different one.

Actually, I found it! It's this one, apparently recorded at BayCon in '86.

It's pretty great.

You should already have received your downloads of the MP3 if you ordered from Conlan Press. If you didn't, poke Connor via e-mail with proof of purchase and he'll send you a download link. (I had to do this myself.)

Oh, good to know, thank you!

I thought it hadn't come through yet, since the site seemed to indicate download links weren't available yet. Now I can listen on the plane tomorrow!

I will warn you that it took Connor over two weeks to get back to me with that download link, though. :-\

Ah, so maybe not on the plane tomorrow, then. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I've emailed him -- surely it'll get sorted sometime. :)

I tried to order from Connor a week and a half ago, but couldn't fill out the order form. It says '"Other State/Province" IS A REQUIRED FIELD if "OUTSIDE US" is selected. Click here for APO/FPO shipping instructions.' "Other State/Province" doesn't exist where I live and when I clicked the APO/FPO shipping link for help, I got info directed at Americans in the service living abroad.

Couldn't find an email address on the site, so I gave up.

Here are the e-mail addresses I used to correspond with him in 2007:

customersupport at conlanpress dot com
connor at conlanpress dot com

I hope that helps, if you decide to try again.

Hi!

The standard email address for Conlan Press is contact@conlanpress.com, and it is directly clickable on the CONTACT page of our website. (Just look for the word CONTACT at the top of every page except for those in the shopping cart.)

That said, please email me directly (connor@conlanpress.com) with your shipping address, so I can tell you how to make it work with the shopping cart. We've handled over a thousand overseas orders in the last 3 years, so I'm sure there's a way to do this.

Hi Connor, I'm mailing you right back!

Sorry about that. Conlan Press is basically a one-man shop (me) and to date only makes money for Peter S. Beagle. Managing to make a living while working CP and managing Peter's work sometimes comes with logjams...

We're still having technical difficulties with sending out the whole mass of free downloads of A FINE AND PRIVATE PLACE (as a thanks to those people still waiting on our delayed LAST UNICORN CD audiobook with TWO HEARTS). But one at a time is doable. Just email me at connor@conlanpress.com with your original order name/number and I'll send you the download link.

Hi Connor,

My husband bought me the Last Unicorn CD audiobook with Two Hearts way back in May 2005. I remember there were delays, and we were in touch with you for a while, but then we didn't get any more updates--or audiobooks, or Two Hearts.

I fully understand that you're a one-man operation trying to do good, but you can probably understand that I am less than thrilled with Conlan Press.

Have you really been having production delays for the last four years?
