It worked! I opened "The Duke of Riverside" and read, and . . . in the words of a French designer we met in Paris, Marie Chaumette, a delightful woman with whom we exchanged parallel tales of creative angst: Ça ne pue presque pas! (It hardly stinks at all).

My director also approved my latest
Klezmer Nutcracker draft (phew!!!!). I go to further revise the short story now - it's about 6,000 words (also phew!!, as the anthology I'm submitting to is asking for shorter works).
