I got this from
lynn_maudlin, who gave me "N."
Rules: you comment and I provide you with a letter of the alphabet. You then list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. If you like you can explain why you love them, or provide pictures or whatever. See? Simple.
(Oh gosh N, N, N... hmmm....)
Nereus, the baby walrus at the Indianapolis Zoo. Who couldn't love a baby walrus?
Neighborhoods, as opposed to sub-divisions or whatever else people live in these days. Places with sidewalks and restaurants you can walk to and so forth. I live in the
Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood in Indianapolis.
Night, because it's the perfect time to sleep. Did I mention I've been a bit sleep deprived lately?
Notepads, because I'm never going to remember anything unless I write it down.
Names, because they are interesting. I sometimes come up with characters for a story just because I find a name I like. I obsess about whether the fantasy names are easy enough to pronounce or if they accidentally mean something in another language (yes, I google* them).
Nature, because it's pretty damn cool. I love being outside and plants and animals (ok maybe not mosquitoes) and am so glad to see my daffodils starting to develop after a really annoying winter.
Nuthatches, particularly the
red-breasted nuthatch because it is tiny and cute and watching birds walk headfirst down the trunk of a tree is fun. The
white-breasted nuthatch is cute too.
Nuances, especially in writing, because subtle is good and gives one something to think about.
Neologisms, for the same reasons as I love names. I grew up with them. My father had his own names he would call something cute, like a dog. When I was in junior high, my best friend and I had a whole list of categories of people that only we understood. For instance, "John is such a steeze."
One more hmm...
Necklaces? I would have said earrings but it doesn't start with the right letter. I don't wear necklaces as often but I have several that I really like, including one with Roman glass and a quote from Dante, and another with a fire opal that my parents gave me.
*Oooh, a neologism!
If anybody wants a letter, post a comment!
