my 80-year-old soviet grandma has taken up watching baseball for the first time in her life. i was visiting and walked into the kitchen today to hear her explaining to my grandfather what an RBI is, in russian, after which she had to explain it to me, after which she packed a giant container of borscht for me to bring home. still completely mystified.
