When the reached the Burrow, Draco suddenly wished that Harry had let him sleep in that morning. He got on with Ron all right now, but he hadn’t met any other members of the Weasley family for a long time. Well, he had seen Ginny, but see was all he had done. The girl had kept herself as far away from him and Harry as was humanly possible since they got together and now, as Ron led them towards the kitchen, he recalled the rabid crush she had once had on his boyfriend. He hoped this didn’t turn nasty.

“Harry!” The twins leapt up to hug the brunet as Draco’s heart sank. From the looks of it the whole Weasley clan had been invited to the get-together today.

“We see-”

“-you brought-”

“-your boyfriend.”

Harry flushed, but said, “Yeah. Everyone, this is Draco Malfoy.” To Draco he said, “Don’t eat anything that either of these two offer you.”

“Hey!” Fred - or was it George? - protested.

“You shouldn’t-”

“-be mean-”

“-about mum’s-”

“-cooking!”

Molly Weasley chose that moment to enter the kitchen. “Harry! Draco!” she exclaimed. “Sit down, both of you. I made enough snacks to tide everyone over till lunchtime.”

“Yeah, lunchtime next year,” they heard Ginny say to Bill, who laughed.

Harry was still looking slightly uncomfortable. “Erm, Draco, you already know Ron, Fred and George. This is Bill,” he gestured, “and this is Charlie. Of course, you know Ginny as well.”

Draco nodded and was startled as Molly pushed the two boys towards the table.

“I’m afraid Arthur had to work today,” she said. “But he should be back before dinner.”

“And Percy’s still being a pompous git,” Ron added.

“Ronald!” she scolded.

Now that they introductions were over, Draco found himself relaxing. Ron was quite happy converse with him and soon all his brothers joined in, questioning both Draco and Harry on everything from their relationship to their opinions on the latest Quidditch matches. Ginny was unusually quiet but, to Draco’s relief, didn’t look as if she was going to make a scene.

It was later in the day when Ginny cornered the two men.

“Can I talk to you for a moment? Together?”

Draco glanced at Harry and the two men followed Ginny out to the garden. She seemed to steel herself before she started to speak.

“I just want to get a few things out in the open,” she told them. “Harry…” the man in question looked curiously at her. “You know I had a crush on you for ages.”

Harry turned a bit pink but said, “Yeah.”

“Well, I wanted to let you know that I’m over that now. I think I resented Draco a bit when you two first got together,” she sent Draco an apologetic glance. “I kept thinking that it was only a phase and that you’d come back to me.” She blushed and looked at her feet. “I guess I was in denial that you didn’t want me? But I realised that I was being silly and childish. Everyone can see that you’re happy together and I’m happy for you.”

She looked up at the two men. She smiled a bit and said, “I guess what I’m trying to say is that I don’t want things to become uncomfortable between us if either of you got the wrong idea about my feelings. I promise I’m over it and I’m not going to cause a scene or do anything stupid.”

Draco squirmed slightly, having had suspicious thoughts not that much earlier.

Harry seemed to think for a minute before he smiled at her. “Thanks, Ginny,” he said. “It means a lot.”

She nodded.

“Does that mean I’ve gained a new friend?” Draco asked, breaking the remaining tension in the air.

Ginny smile widened. “I guess it does.”
