Summary: Watching sunrise with the one you love is …….
Waking up at the crack of dawn, Mao sat on the beach chaise lounge, knees close to her chest, hands clasping a cup of hot coffee. Thinking back to the wedding 3 days ago, Mao cannot help but smile. Shun and Yu’s wedding was beautiful, just like a fairy tale. The bride and groom were gorgeous in their wedding attires; the scenery was breathtaking; the reception was fun; food and wine was exceptional; the guests who are really their close friends are just too happy for the couple. But for Mao, the most memorable part of the wedding was the bride’s throwing of her bouquet. The other guests gave it their best but she was the one who triumphed. Mao Inoue caught the bouquet. It was fantabulous. The teasing and ribbing suddenly shifted from the newlyweds to them, Jun and Mao.
“So, we will be expecting another wedding soon?” Haruna Ai asked.
“Do I need to clear my calendar for a day or two for a Japan wedding or for a few days for another Hawaiian wedding?” asked Yu to which Shun added “We don’t need to have a fourth wedding for you to get the drift do we? Otherwise, I’ll be bankrupt and you can never catch up with us.” This earned another burst of laughter from the other guests.
“I need to get Arashi to practice with me as I will become their fifth member,” Toma said already practicing his dance moves.
The smiles on Jun and Mao’s faces stayed long after the other guests have gone home to Japan.
This is the scene that greeted Jun when he went out the veranda from their room to search for his beloved. Mao sitting on the chaise lounge, sipping her now lukewarm coffee with a serene smile lingering on her lips with her eyes closed, savouring the first rays of the sunrise.
“What are you thinking about?” Jun asked. “Are you already planning our wedding?”
“I had it planned a long time ago and you know it,” Mao replied still with her eyes closed.
“I know,” Jun said as he sat behind Mao, embracing her, leaning his chin on her shoulder.
“So, are we gonna…” Jun left the sentence hanging.
“Uh-uh,” Mao’s non-committal reply.
“You asked me before how was Hawaii when I came here to shoot with Yamapi. Do you remember what I told you?” asked Mao.
“You said it was breathtakingly beautiful,” Jun said.
“Yes it was. Some poet said not to compare sunrise/sunset because no sunrise/sunset is ever the same. But the one I’m seeing now will stay forever with me and is the most beautiful yet,” Mao said.
Jun, knowing Mao as good as he knows himself knew where this was leading to but asked Mao anyways, “And why is that?”
“Because you’re watching it with me,” Mao replied turning to Jun for a kiss. After a breathless minute, Jun said “Happy Birthday Hime.”
