well when kids are born they have a little hole in their hearts that mends later...thimble's (my sister) didn't mend. we knew about it..i knew about it since she was little but i dunno. >.< i really wish the situation was better so i could be there for her.

The fact he let you know she was going in for an operation is a good sign. Are you able to send her a little gift and card? If you know the hospital name and address - you should be able to.
