Holiday in Nuremberg Part 2.

So....where was I ....before a bad cold so rudely interrupted me. Ok, one of the highlights of my trip to Nuremberg was a concert in one of the cathedrals. Whaaaat???...I hear you say. But YES...I totally loved Handel, Clarke, Dupre, Hiller and of course, no Christmas concert is complete without Bach. (Trumpets and organ.) The cathedral, though ( Read more... )

Get better quickly!

*LOL*.... this was a cosy punk-poet's-hookah-psychedellic-jazz-hippie bar... those people are always accompanied by dogs and rats (and chinchillas?) ... alternatively... they ARE dogs. :-) Have I told you they do a remarkable Sunday brunch and poetry slam combined? One hookah filling is free... *LOL*

* ROFL* I still take every bet that you'd also be fined when caught by the police crossing a red trafic light in London. (The only place the police took the trouble to actually remove my bike with the help of an iron-cutting saw that I had illegally chained to a fence - despite the sign saying that bikes must be parked in the bicycle racks provided (which were full!). ... was Hounslow East station... I had to collect my bike at Brentford (why at Brentford?) police station AND pay a fine (can't remember how much it was... not much, obviously).
There IS a resaon why Oxford street shopping can get quite dangerous, though.... CARS don't wait at red lights in Britain... and busses and cars actually chase pedestrains... "F*** me baby, I'm a trolley bus." At least trolleybusses are fixed to their electric wires and jumping on the pavement gets you out of their reach...

I've got the feeling non-electric busses would follow you right into shops if you make them really angry... *LOL*

Hmmm...ok, next time...brunch it is. I have to sample some more unusual drinks. (I'll forgo the hookah.)

Oxford St IS quite dangerous.....but I'm very polite to those buses. I was there today..........and now have Marcel Dupre. And the light grey paint I was so taken with, which was in the building where the Baroque stucco plasterwork ceiling was. (S. asked if I remember exact colours....Yep.)

So it'll be a light grey and dark blue magpie? (Ah, sorry, I still need to upload the photos of the church windows and the rest on photobucket for you to download - and the ones with you and/or S. in them I'll rather mail you.)
