"You did not," my cousin Leo said, from down at the bottom of the well. His voice had a kind of an echo-y quality about it, coming from down there.
The two men took the pail and drank the water, and I marveled that men are so impervious to truth.
I haven't posted in a while, busy, yes indeed. But I'm getting through a Kroetsch story and these few lines just made me chuckle at its sheer volume of truth.
I did my first volunteer shift at the library and it was pretty straightforward. If all goes well, when I'm finished I can continue with just the one hour a week of "literacy encouragement" with my book buddy.
I've been seriously craving mushrooms for some reason, just nice fried mushrooms. Weird. My last craving was for a banana split which was accomplished last night. Oh my, can't wait to see those ridiculous pictures! And with that and a nice timmy's hot chocolate, I sent Kait back to North Bay. *tear* I also finally saw Across the Universe, which was very good. And chopped off a majority of my dead cells, so I'm still trying to get used to my hair just ending so abruptly.
Otherwise, I'm so tired! But I can't nap because I need to finish my work so I can stick with tonight's plans... hopefully they involve fried shrooms.
I still have "I'm blue..." stuck in my head.
