My family (my mom especially) is so funny.
I wish I had a list of the random gifts they've gotten me. And I know it makes me sound materialistic, but seriously, it'd be a really funny list. So this year's the big 1-8, and my mom got me... A weird, though admittedly cute, stuffed kitten with the 37 cent spay/neuter stamp as a collar decoration, and.... the matching notepad! (These, of course, also match the kitten-stamp keychain that was one of my Christmas gifts. I wonder where she got them all...
Anyway, I just got back from brunch with her, my aunt and uncle, and Celeste, and in the car on the way home, she gave me a little tip. She said the next time I was looking for a gift I should try the local hardware store, because that had "a lot of neat staplers, with molded plastic and swoopy curvy shapes."
I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
