Fanfic etiquette help!

If anybody's hanging around, I have a question-- what's your opinion about how to answer reviews?  Do you respond to some?  All?  None?  On the one hand, I want to be friendly / express appreciation.  On the other, I feel like it would look silly to write too much in my own comments section.  Thoughts?
