I'm glad you enjoyed this, and the PolLiet fill (I don't usually read them either, but that was so totally an exception!)
And yeah, that's exactly what England was going for-- France might have won the war, but he's going to be really lonely for the next few decades, since no one in Europe wants to be around him anymore.
And I KNOW. There's no point to FrUK when there's not either hilarious bickering or angst or both.
Still haven't written the 1763 fic, thus it not being up here-- but thanks for following me over/deanoning!
I lvoed this SO MUCH, you wouldn't believe it. FrUK is my favourite pairing of the series, and this fic has everything I lvoe about it rolled into one story. The interaction between them, the political and historicla circumstances, the mentiosn to their shared past, relations, intensity (and the lovely way in which you told about them, for example, telling us about France's intimate knowledge of the other's body), and now England's apathy and detached dislike...and the way it hurt France, you showed that lovely. England is really a master at hurting emotions, isn't he? Probably because he himself feels so vulnerable... I also love that they didn't hide their identities in front of their men, and they knew what meant for their nations to do what France did. That gave it an 'old' feeling, like something typical of the Middle Age,s which is probably where this practica comes from...and I adored that these two never had to do it before to get that spark of pasison between them. It makes it much more hurtful and fantastic I'm such a

I'm so glad you liked! Yeah, England's good at being a snotty/hurtful bitch, and yes, it's probably because he spends so much of his time hurting. In this case-- he hates him, but he kind of loves him too, you know? Which yes, is TOTALLY what makes this pairing work.
I agree, the Entente makes for FABULOUS fanfic material. Once I get tired of that whole 1750-1815 period, I will definitely try and go there (Note: I'm working on a Prussia/Canada right now, but I haven't forgotten about fem!Portugal and DP England [was it you who wanted that?])

I love that France tried so hard to get England, failed miserably, and acknowledged that he wasn't as victorious as he thought. Ugggghhh.....*Laughs*

...which, admittedly, is his own fault. He just kind of got caught up in the fervor though, you know? Napoleon was a convincing guy...
