Requesting ideas from the "Peanut Gallery"

The prompt this week for the writing competition is the word "Thunderclap".  Right now, my muse is nowhere to be found, and the deadline is Thursday evening.

So... any ideas how I might write a story (fiction or non-fiction) based on that word?
