Still wrung-out from my illness on Tuesday. Did get some useful work done today, but I was definitely "far off my game". Had a nasty bout of depression in the afternoon -- only lasted an hour or so, but it was *BAD* while it lasted.
One of the "good" things I did in the last week was help my godchild shop for a new TV -- he had a tiny 9-inch CRT standard definition set in his room, and wanted something bigger that would double as a PC monitor. I found him a great deal on a 24-inch widescreen 1080p LCD set that had all the features he was looking for at a very reasonable price. He's already got it, and he's extremely happy with it... plus, it comes with an unexpected bonus: The thing uses less than 60 watts of power, so it will significantly reduce the household electric bill.
Now, my TV is a 27-inch CRT standard definition set, and it works just fine... and I originally swore to myself that I would *NOT* replace it with a high-definition set until the current one broke down. But after seeing my godchild's new TV and discovering how energy-efficient it is, I've suddenly realized that if I bought a similar TV it could quite literally pay for itself within a few years just from the reduced energy costs.
I'm not rushing out to buy a new set, but at the very least, I think I should do some research...
