i decided that if i could get away with having an alternate boy's name like the cool kids do it would be Tucker. but i definitely can't, so it will just have to be the name of my future child/ lesbian-child-replacement animal. (i think that from now on i will be wildly offensive in my lj all the time. ok? ok.) i think liza wants to change her name to Biff. i'm not sure if i could handle that. it would remind me too much of the fuck-up kid in death of a salesman, which would be depressing. (can i tell you how much that play makes me cry? pray tell us, tucker! oh, quite a lot, my good sir.) also, annika's new name is T-Mobile. she might not answer to it right away, but that doesn't mean you should give up. don't be shy, folks.
i visited marty at his suny school this weekend, from which i drew the following conclusions:
a)i should ceremoniously thank the lord every day for sarah lawrence (even though i TOTALLY HATE IT FOR WAIT-LISTING BRIAN. I AM GOING TO LEAD A FUCKING CAVALRY CHARGE INTO ADMISSIONS, I TELL YOU WHUT.)
b)i think i am growing even more inept at dealing with the "real world" outside the bubble (you know, the one that includes an equal number of guys and girls who are all like those kids from high school.)
c)people in albany can't dance. not that it's a bad thing, i can't either. it made me feel more comfortable.
d)raspberry vodka: an emphatic "yes!"
e)there seems to be some top-secret way that greyhound contacts people in remote areas of upstate new york to let them know where the bus stops. we would be going on these complicated routes on practically dirt roads winding up steep hills surrounded by forest, and the bus would stop at a seemingly random place with no signs or any sort of visible marker of civilization and a bunch of cheerful people would climb on with their bus tickets.
if anybody has some time on their hands they should really read Tristram Shandy by Laurence Stern. i cannot get over how much i enjoyed it. it's literally the funniest book i've ever read, but it's also surprisingly poignant and true.
that's some of the news from lake woebegone.
