It's like 2:15 right now and I was just looking around PETA.com and I watched this video about cows and the leather industry. I know that it is cruel (I love animals more than anyone else and would be the last person to wear leather) but I didn't know how much until I watched this video. It makes me sick, I don't know how anyone can possibly wear leather or an animal product and not be sick to the stomach.
http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/Prefs.asp?video=skin-trade-iliclick on the link and watch the video (volume on, too), if you can honestly still wear an animal product afterwards, you are sick. I cannot think of anything more disgusting than that. You deserve to be shot and afterwards made into a blanket for cows to keep warm in the harsh winter months. Seriously though, all (semi, though not really) jokes aside... Did you watch that video from beginning to end? Did it have any impact on you at all? if not, rot in hell.
I already think eating meat is cruel to the extreme but society has a don't-ask-don't-tell-policy when it comes to the killing of animals. You don't ask us how we do it, we won't tell you. Lets people sleep at night after eating the leg of a 3 month old calf that was kept in a small crate and fed its own kin for dinner. Okay, so I'm rambling, but you have to admit that I have a very valid point. Vegetarians aren't crazy, we are right. Yeah so, I don't impose my beliefs on others and I am pretty good about keeping my humane, animal-loving, moral values to myself, but on occasion I will have a burst of if-what-I-am-seeing-ever-happened-to-Corbie-or-Axel-I-would-kill-everyone-on-earth and rant on and on about how much I hate the fact that people use animals as if they were here at our disposal. Yes I am protective of my puppy and horsie. I also love my Gimli but who abuses newts? I don't even think half the human population has ever heard of a newt. So he is safe. Logically I don't hate most people who eat meat or else I would have no friends (well, to be fair, I would have about 5).
If you haven't already noticed, I don't connect my thoughts that well but each randomly stated thought is quite clear to even the most simple of meat-eating-animal-wearing simpletons. That was random, I know. The more angry/passionate I get about a topic, the less organized my thoughts are (generally, that is). I don't want to start a rant on this.
P.s- If you didn't watch the video or had to stop mid way through, that shows something, and if you still continue to wear leather that shows another thing, you disgusting shit. And don't be swayed by the fact that it is Pamela Anderson, I don't know how smart she is but he I think she is great for being so pro animal rights. She has earned my respect.
P.p.s- There are other videos to watch if you have the guts. Some are about puppies, they are terrible but are you really going to turn a blind eye to it? Especially when that cute little puppy being suffocated with the rest of its litter in a gas chamber (just like in holocaust, which I might add everyone STILL talks about) could just as easily have been your own pooch?
*sigh* I am not saying that the holocaust wasn't terrible and that many people died, but another thing that always gets me is how much more we care about humans than other animals. More dogs and cats are killed every year via gas chambers than in the holocaust, yet I bet you didn't even know that gas chambers still functioned around the world... Yeah so, that's it. Some food for thought (no pun intended).
