~Hisashiburi~
~ Wow, It's been a while since I haven't posted anything... 3 weeks or so... Even the New Year has come and gone (Happy New Year!)
I've finished the first semester of my Masters Course... though now with... sparkling grades... though i don't have all of them yet... Second semester starts next week... I think... I'm not 100% sure anymore...Anyway.
~ I've been spending some time with my family lately... Went to the theater, family gatherings and parties and had fun... I Finally played Twister! And it was SO fun! Though I was in a lot of pain for 2 days after... I also helped my cousin, who's in first grade, with his holiday homework (because I have more patience with him than his parents do apparently...)
~ Fandom-wise:
* I've been reading a few new manga lately...
= "Kaze Hikaru" [It's about a girl, Sei, who disguises herself as a boy and enters the Shinsengumi (then 'Miburou') so she can get revenge for her brother and father who were killed by Choshu agents. She gets found out from the first chapter by Okita Souji (Who is the most Adorable thing EVER!
) who nevertheless lets her stay and helps her when she needs it most and keeps her secret. Apart from Sei and Souji and their growing relationship, I love some of the other characters as well (Hijikata Toshizou, Saitou Hajime and Akesato, to name a few) and also the fact that it's pretty accurate from a historic p.o.v. as far as I can tell (with the exception of Souji's illness which, apparently, Hijikata has in this manga... though I'm not sure the mangaka won't still kill Souji in the end... anyway... I recomend it to anyone who likes historical manga and Shinsengumi and pretty graphics and won't mind reading about 20 volumes in Japanese... ].
= "Barajou no Kiss" - It's cute, has bisshies and will probably have a pretty nice plot given time... Since it's only to chapter 19.
= "Fujoshi Kanojo" - A college student falls for a woman at his part-time job and when he finally asks her out she agrees... though she warn's him she's a Fujoshi (a girl who likes boyXboy ships... kinda like me though, unlike what one of my friends seems to think, I have at least twice as more het fav ships than shounen ai... anyway). He misunderstands at first but slowly he gets what she means... esp when he actually agrees to write a doujin novel (basically Fanfic?) for her of her favorite boyXboy pairing... and She also seems to ship him a bit with his best friend :D I'd really like to see more of this but I've only found 2 volumes so....
= "Peace Maker Kurogane" - The story is focused on the main character, Ichimura Tetsunosuke, an energetic, short, and very childlike 15 year old. He and his older brother (Tatsunosuke) are left to fend for themselves after the vicious murder of their parents. While Tetsunosuke wants to get revenge, his pacifist brother is not so inclined. 'Tatsu' joins a special police force dubbed the Shinsengumi, as an accountant to earn a living, the organization 'Tetsu' wishes to join as a soldier to seek his revenge. The story chronicles Tetsu's trials and tribulations as a struggling page craving redemption. He develops relationships with all the legendary members of the Shinsengumi army helping them with their various struggles as he constantly battles his own against himself. At the story's climax, Tetsu discovers himself and the overwhelming responsibility the power he is searching for holds. (taken from Wiki cuz I'm too lazy and anyway I haven't finished it yet so yea...)
= "Yankee-kun to Megane-chan" - Daichi Shinagawa was just a Yankee (Japanese term for delinquent) who wanted nothing to do with his high school life. Hana Adachi, the dedicated class representative, however would not allow it and constantly bothers him to be involved in school life. Shinagawa is first confused on why does she keep pestering him until he discovers her secret. While she may look like a typical class representative stereotype, Adachi is actually not very smart and lacks common sense, and Shinagawa eventually learns that Adachi is a former delinquent. Regretting being a yankee during her middle school years, Adachi decides to change her ways to achieve her dream of becoming the best class representative. She decides to help Shinagawa so he will not continue to make the same mistake that she did. Thus begins the adventures of these two unlikely friends and their classmates. (Again, taken from Wiki) - This one's very funny though Adachi's stupidity tends to get a touch bit annoying from time to time... esp to poor Daichi's frustration... I'm not up-to-date yet but I'll get around to that soon...
= Some 15 or so yaoi/shounen ai one-shots and a couple I can't really remember right now...
* Of the 'already started some time ago' ones:
+ Of the Shounen Jump 4 I used to read (Bleach, Naruto, KHR & One Piece), Only Reborn! and Bleach hold my interest anymore......... I read the spoiler for Naruto and One Piece (and I will do a mass reading one of these days, to catch up) but that's about it for them... for now...
-> Bleach - right now we're in fake!Karakura and everybody who could still fight (that wasn't badly injured by Aizen or his lackeys) ganged up on him and Hitsugaya managed to get a hit in... meaning a sword through Aizen's back... or so it seems... Knowing Kubo... it's most likely an illusion... there were some spoilers (though don't know how true, yet) that i might me Hinamori in his place but... I'll wait and see.......... I've seen fans getting restless wanting to know what's happening in Hueco Mundo where Inoue still is...
-> Reborn! - It's Tsuna vs Byakuran with Tsuna getting his ass royally kicked...... though I wonder for how long seeing as apparently the dead Arcobaleno of 10YL will be revived and Reborn is very adamant in his statement that Tsuna will be the one to defeat Byakuran... We'll see... I can't wait for the next chapter!
* Not a Shounen Jump, but still a Weekly: Fairy Tail, which I Still adore very very very much! Now with the action happening in the parallel world of Edras in which Fairy Tail is the last remaining magic (and therefore Dark) guild, the ruler (Faust) seems (and most likely IS) insane, the normal Fairy Tail guild + Magnolia City is sealed in a giant lacryma crystal, E!Gray wears too many clothes and has a crush on E!Juvia who is cool, E!Wendy has an adult body, E!Erza’s last name is Knightwalker instead of Scarlet and is against FT, and E!Lucy is a skimpily-leather-dressed (even more so), energy-whip wielding badass who apparently has a major crush on E!Natsu (who noone know where he is). Oh and E!Lisanna (The counterpart of Natsu’s dead ex) is alive. God I can’t wait for updates!
+ Of the Monthlies:
=> Kuroshitsuji - Sebastian apparently kicked the bucket. And I wonder how much of Ciel's reaction to finding his precious 'murdered' is an act... Though I guess that if it weren't, he'd take of the eyepiece when ordering Sebastian to wake up... cuz he usually takes it off when giving orders... (Oh and there’s a new anime season that’s going to start sometime soon but I think Ciel & Sebby won’t be the main charas anymore, if they’ll even be in it…which I’m starting to doubt… The new Bou-chan, Alois Trancy , looks positively Evil imo and the new butler, Claude Faustus has Sakurai Takahirp as a seiyuu so I’ll wanna see that… )
=> PH - Err... It's getting a bit creepy with the Head Huntress and all that... but at least there's some more Eliot Back Story. Though I miss Break... :(
=> FMA - Basically, right now, all of Amestris with the exception of Ed, Al, Roy, Mei, Izumi, Hohenheim, and Father (Who just made himself a new body composed of the souls of a whole country plus God, apparently) are more or less dead… I don’t even know if the other (remaining) Homunculi are okay. If this isn’t development, idk what is…
=> Ouran - I finally caught up with it (I was 3 chapters or so behind) and God! How I love Kyoya! I think that the Suohs have smth in their blood that makes it possible to piss him off enough to make him lose his head. He YELLED at Tamaki’s dad after being the most collected one in the HostClub group during the consversation… But you can see him getting angrier and angrier the more he talks till he actually Yells… It’s the third time I’ve seen Kyoya so pissed off and the second time actually losing his cool because of it (the other times happening because of Tamaki). As far as I see it, Kyoya accusing and yelling at Suoh Sr. for being the one who hurt Tama-chan the most just proved that Kyo-chan is the one who cares about the blond ditz the most in this manga… (Mother and Love interest not included)
He IS ‘Okaa-san’ after all. XP
=> DGM - We’re getting Kanda’s background story so I’m happy :D Chibi Kanda is so very much Adorable even when he’s an utter brat.
=> La Corda d’Oro - Finally Len realizes he’s in love with Kahoko… while playing Ave Maria with her… I wonder how long before he leaves now… ‘Cause I don’t think this realization will keep him from leaving for Germany… Though I at least hope he confesses first…
=> There are a few more which I haven’t gotten around to get up to date with (Like Nabari or Amatsuki) but I will…
+ On the Randomly Appearing list:
- Holic: (Or Holic: Rou as it’s called now) … I want catty!Watanuki back, CLAMP! Though I guess 4 years being cooped up in a single place, doing jobs that tend to get you hurt, and only having for company 2 souless girls, a Mokona and the guy who you like to consider a pest (though you rely on him now more than ever, which you Hate) can cause a person to have an attitude/personality change… I like the way he wears the kimonos though and his flirting with Doumeki (because that’s what it is, no matter how one looks at it).
- Vassalord: the next chapter will be out this month I think and I Really wanna know what’s gonna happen next… and see a continuation of the latest feeding scene which is… made to look very much like a b-job. Anyway.
- The tyrant falls in love: I wonder if this’ll Ever get a new chapter… it Has been at least 2 months… if not more, since the last one.
~ Music:
- I’ve been listening to a lot of MJ lately… which is not a bad thing At All. I also dlded the This Is It DVD (Can’t wait till I’ll have the money to go BUY it!)
- I’ve also listened to KAT-TUN’s newest single (It’s been about a year since the last release, DVDs not included). I love the Title Songs ‘Love yourself~Kimi ga Kirai na Kimi ga Suki’ and ‘The D-Motion’ (which both have PVs though they’re from the same single. (And I like how besides these two songs there is one more group song and 2 solo songs: Kame’s and Jin’s though Jin’s in engrish and not so good…
- I’ve also been listening to Jin’s (Lands’) Olympos album but I can’t say I love the songs all that much… I only love one… or more like like quite a bit : “Hatachi no Sensou”. PS: He’s having a series of solo concerts for the next couple of weeks entitled: 友＆仁… Most of the songs are in English so I’m not gonna expect too much… though I Do wanna listen to the one he did a collab with Ryo-chan for. :D
- And then, there’s the usual anime songs I listen to always…
~ I’ve been doing a bit of coloring manga panels in Photoshop but it’s very basic and I very much suck at shading (thus, I don’t do it) and at backgrounds…
~ And I guess that’s about it for now…
