The Interview

Nov 08, 2006 16:37

I still don't know whether or not I got it. While last year they made the decision in one night, this year they're apparently taking a little longer. I'll know for sure by Friday... but that's so far away! TOO FAR! I'm going to go crazy between now and then!

The actual interview went okay... I totally nailed a few of the answers, but stumbled over my words in bunch of other ones as well. So... I have no idea how I did in comparison to the other applicants. I just don't know.

The funniest part, though, was when they asked the question, "this internship takes you out of your comfort zone, and may put you under a lot of stress. If you feel overwhelmed, how do you deal with that feeling and how do you regain that confidence?"

I started to laugh. I said, "Well, this is such a cheesy answer, but I'm a big fan of Broadway and musicals, and there's this one song from a musical called 'Sweet Charity' that goes..." and I sang it in my interview. Honestly, I started to sing, "So when I panic and think each day I come to the end of the line, I say fear hasn't licked me yet! I keep telling myself, I'm the bravest individual I have ever met." They starting laughing (but in a good way) and I could feel myself blushing to the tops of my ears. But then I continued with, "But you'd be surprised how much confidence that can give you!"

The person on the speaker phone conducting part of the interview was laughing and said, "Well... I've never had anyone sing in the interview before!" and so I responded with, "that gets extra points, right?"

I think it went over well... ::shrug:: Well, I don't think it hurt me, so I'm pleased.

I'll let everyone know as soon as I know, as I'll either be balling or jumping up and down completely ecstatic.
