I've just figured out why I think the fannish thoughts I do.

It starts, as it should, with Sawyer.

I'm jumping right in here, not just cuz you're picking on my boy :p, but also because you've hit on something that has nagged at me for a while but I just can't seem to put into words. Maybe you or somebody else who reads this can help me out.

There's something about the the directing on Lost that is too slow for my taste. Too underplayed, or low-key or something. I know that sounds crazy after the head-spodey scene we just saw between Jack and Locke. But the prime example of it was the Shannon/Sayid stuff. It was so slow, almost dreamy...I just can't find the right words. Shannon in her backstory was that way, too. And Ana's like that, especially when she's with Jack. They do the same thing with Sawyer. A very slow, very deliberate, hypnotic...almost like it has an underwater feel. I am NOT saying it right, and that's the root of my frustration because I've wanted to post about this but I just can't put my finger on it. Sorry to be inarticulate all over your journal.

But, beyond the directing (which is what I have a problem with), hon, Southern boys are slow. And under the right circumstances, that can be very nice. ;)

My dad calls the show a night time soap opera -- and while I hate the comparison, it's kind of true. It takes weeks for them to just show one day, time moves slowly, and things move at a very slow pace. I like it when thing are sped up, when people move fast. It is frustrating, but at the same time, I still love the show too much to be TOO frustrated.

Really? ALL southern boys? I talk extremely fast, so I guess that's the attraction for me. I need someone that can keep up. ;)

Wait, can you even have a drawl and speak fast? I'm totally ignorant of the south. Yikes.
