Teaching kids that death happens and that it's not pretty but inevetable isn't bad parenting, I know a family who when the children were young they used to stop the car whenever they passed road kill and get out and stare at it, I also went to a few open casket funerals as a child and my grandfather apparently used to take us to the morgue museam at RMIT - but I don't remember that. Death isn't bad and it's not something to to feared or censored.

That's right; you're right on that count. But my sister was sitting there saying "look at that!" and then the next day the kids ran up to the crash site so they could see if there was any "dead body" or "blood." I think kids like my nephews should keep their innocence a little longer. I mean it's not fair for them to see someone in the balance between life and death and be showed it as if it's something on TV. That's seriously how they were acting over it.

I don't really see the difference between seeing it on TV and in real life, this very minute an add for 'medical emergency' came on with the dialog "tonight one of these battlers will die (an old guy with leg problems and a younger dude with brain problems) - tonite on medical emergency" - My money is on the old guy. It's natural for kids to be intrigued by death - like in stand by me they were all excited about finding their classmates body.

I understand that you don't see the difference - these kids don't though. They're way too young and have a problem distinguishing between TV and reality sometimes. And my sister loves to brown-nose.

I meant to say you see the difference. I'm sure you understood that though. ^^;;
