Getting ready for vacation
Well, yesterday was my last day at work until next year. That's right, 3 whole weeks of vacation...I'm very excited about that. This weekend we're finishing up Christmas prep (just hung our lights outside and the tree came home last weekend, hoping to get cards in the mail tomorrow) as my parents arrive Monday night. They're house and dog sitting for us while we go on vacation, which will make things a lot easier, but now I have to clean the house before they come since my Mom will clean it again while we're gone.
Packing will likely happen Monday in a mad rush and I hope we get everything as we're gone 2 weeks once we leave. There are lots of neat things planned in New Zealand (whale watching, winery tours, kayaking, and hiking) but we're much less structured for Sydney, other than visiting Bondi Beach on Christmas Day to join all the other people celebrating while on vacation. I'll post lots of pictures to Flickr once we get back.
We get back with 3 days before hosting New Year's Eve so the rest of this year is going to just fly by! Since we'll be out of touch while on vacation, Merry Christmas early!
