Growl growl. Can you feel the peace growling off of wee Gabriella Karl outside of the Heartland Cafe in Chicago, Illinois? This picture was taken in 1996, which means that wee karl was 19 or 20. 19 i think. I loved the Heartland Cafe. They had lots of scraggly houseplants all the fuck over.

Elly recently categorized me as someone who doesn't care if her house is filled with "70s-era houseplants." What a bitch! I guess it's true though. I like to think of my plants as quite tidy and contemporary, but it looks like I've been fooling myself.

I finally stopped sleeping for massive amounts of hours on Sunday. Dan and I hosted brunch for Elly and Chris in our backyard. We had a delicious spread: iced milky coffee, kiwi and strawberries, fried potatoes, an egg scramble with spinach, onions, veggie sausage, feta, and cheddar cheesies, fresh scones from Arizmendi, and the yummy marmalade that Phyllis and Armstead brought over for my b-day. It was sunny and gorgeous and awesome outside and then Elly and I left the dishes for Dan and Chris to deal with and headed off to SF for H&M.

First we went to get Phyllis. We pounced unexpectedly on her home. She was cleaning the ceiling with a wet washcloth on a pole. This sounds like the beginning of a dirty joke but it is not. She was quickly convinced to go into the city with us. I bought many shirts. The city was crowded with dumbos and their shopping agendas, just like us. We had good times though.

I have a number of hot spots on the top of my palette and a canker sore on the inside of my cheek from being sick. They hurt. I've been applying tea tree oil which makes me smell antiseptic.

I just found out today that since I'm so underpaid and overworked at ol' home energy they're giving me a bonus check. That is sweet news.

I may join the Berkeley rock climbing gym instead of the Y. Any opinions?
