Last night, watching Obama's speech, I felt an old familiar feeling. It was hope. I'm glad we have a president who is smarter than me. I'm glad we have a president who can pronounce nuclear. I'm glad the world no longer has to look at us through the face of a retarded cowboy. I don't have to feel shame for our president. But I am still ashamed of the backwards zealots in this state who chose mediocrity over the possibility of greatness. I hope he lives up to his potential and I hope no backwards redneck kills him in the name of some perverse view of a god.
