Hey guys! Happy Easter!
My mom decided she wouldn't go to the trouble of doing an Easter basket for me this year. I mentioned it to my sister-in-law Tiffany yesterday when we were dyeing eggs together. Today, she walked in and presented a basket that she'd made up for me! It was the sweetest thing ever. She left a cake in the school office for me last year on my birthday, too. Such a thoughtful person. <3
I did have a bit of trouble explaining the situation to my little niece, Mary Rose, who's about 4 or 5. She said, "But Aunt Elizabeth, where did the Easter Bunny hide your basket?" I was like, "Well...um...see...the Easter Bunny accidentally hid my basket at Aunt Tiffany's house, so she brought it for me! Isn't that silly?" *fake laughter*
It seemed to satisfy her. Good. :P
Wow, today was an absolute mob scene in my house. There were over 40 people crammed in our little country home, 25 of them being children. It's hard to maintain sanity in such a madhouse.
I do love having my family around, though. It gets so lonely on weekdays, with my parents always busy or sleeping, and me having to entertain myself.
Anyway, not much in the way of news.
I haven't really had anything of consequence to say for the past few weeks. I keep coming to LJ, all ready to post, and there's just...nothing to say.
I could rant and rave about my issues, but who really cares? Everything is resolved and forgotten in time.
A few things worth noting, however:
- My sister-in-law Lisa is pregnant! Woohoo!
- Cathy turned 18 on Friday. :D
- I got my hair cut. Nobody noticed, though, so it must not be a very substantial change. Though...there are several inches missing. Whatever.
- Oh! I sent in 3 works of art for a competition at the Elm Grove Women's Club, and I won!! They're giving me $1,000 in college tuition money, wherever I want to attend! Also, they're displaying my pieces in the Elm Grove Library for two weeks, starting on April 5th. Cool. ^^
I can't think of anything else at the moment.
Well, tomorrow I'm leaving to visit the University of Dallas. It could prove to be a very interesting road trip.
Yes folks, you heard right - we're driving. My parents and I.
Wish me luck. I'll need it.
I really haven't the faintest idea when I'll be home. Could be Thursday. Could be Saturday, for all I know.
But I love you all and I'll miss you. With luck, I'll be able to overcome the carsickness that usually results from my dad's horrible driving, and write some letters. I'm bringing a sketchpad and some stationery. :)
Oh my my.
Hope you had a lovely Easter.
God bless.
