I'm so sorry that happened to you sweetie! It makes me think of my sister-in-law who was razzed by a breast feeding enthusiast for giving her son a bottle. What that nasty person didn't know and didn't bother to find out is that she had tried really hard to nurse. The pediatrician and the lactation consultant had agreed that the baby's tong was too short to latch on properly. They told her to try again at four months, but for now bottles were best. My darling and devoted mother of a sister-in-law has pumped and bottled every single drop her son has ever drank since! When he was about 2 months old the lactation consultant told her to pump ever 3 hours at that point. The baby wanted to eat every 4 or 5. She didn't change the feeding or pumping schedule! She just got up an extra 2 or 3 times every single night. How dare anyone pick on her about not nursing

Thank you... I loved your story! Except where the bitch came in and tried to ruin it for your sister in law (who is a freaking saint, by the way!!)
I gotta tell you... I had to pump and bottle feed Carmen for just one and a half weeks, and it was HELL.
I do admire women (and men) who are breastfeeding advocates. I'm one of them. But I also give people the benefit of the doubt that the stuff in their bottle isn't poisonous if we're in public and I see someone giving a bottle to a baby. To actually say or do something to that mother is simply harassment, and completely uncalled for.

Except when it's Coca Cola. Yes, I saw this once. In a hospital waiting room of all places.
