justin just surprised me by taking me to supperclub. it was quite fun, and deliciously comfortable as well!
when we first arrived, we were ushered into the plush red bar area, where we sipped cherry vodka and ginger beer concoctions. dinner was on at 730, so we went into the white, futuristic "bedroom" area. as we lounged against comfy white pillows and vinyl walls, we were served 5 different tasty courses, while random acts were performed on the main floor- from trapeze stunts to gymnastic teens darting across the floor. at one point, they needed volunteers from the audience for a "fashion show", and they picked me to be the "model". which basically meant that i had over 100 blown up rubber gloves tied to me and then i was expected to traipse around the restaurant. it was both difficult and hilarious. i received a free glass of champagne for the silliness.
we were comfy and cuddly through out the meal, being served in bed is quite decadent and enjoyable. plus, the beds and bedding were nice and clean, which was something that pleased me greatly. (i have a weird issue with bedding, don't ask).
it is a really cool place, and a fun idea, though we both discussed the inevitable fact that yuppies and other annoying types were soon going to take it over. as if to carve our thoughts into stone, a group of 20 asshats was seated next to us, including a guy who kept shouting "YEA-AHH!!" a la lil' john EVERY. FIVE. SECONDS. i am not over exaggerating at all. it was pretty much the most annoying thing ever, and we decided that he must have had some sort of selective tourettes syndrome. then another 25 of his friends from the club downstairs decided to join him, sitting at our table and on our bed area. i refused to take it another minute, so i morphed into a 65 year old woman and marched downstairs and complained to the manager. the 25 people who just waltzed in to hang out and fuel the constant "YEA-AHH!!"ing were escorted out. yay.
anyways, it was a really fun night, and a lovely surprise! i would recommend going, if simply for the interesting experience of being served dinner in bed. in a restaurant.
YEA-AHH!!
