What I've been up to.
Ok. Sorry for not updating sooner - my stupid work internet has, in its infinite wisdom, decided that livejournal is a pornographic site and block it every time I try to get onto it!
Had a really busy few weekend recently so actually doing stuff.
3 weekends ago I was in London for group birthday with people I have not seen in ages. This includes Dave whom I had suspected had died in a tragic blimp accident as he was seemingly un-contactable. He is however alive, fit and well and living in IOW. We basically spent the weekend chatting and did traveler and Seventh Sea and Albert bought us sushi (YUM). It was a REALLY good weekend and I realised just how much I miss everyone. so if I didn't say it to you then . . . I miss you. Lots.
2 weekends ago I was in Leicester. Both Cubbs and myself had taken friday and monday off work although I had teaching in the morning. I then had another driving lesson and the we went up to Leicester to see everyone but especially The Anti-Pope as he was in town. We stayed in the Travelodge in the centre of town which was nice too apart from the idiots who set the fire alarm off at 3am on the sunday morning. Generally spent time with the Anti-Pope and people, shopped in Notts, drank lots of cherry beer, saw Vicky and Dave's new lovely flat and generally had a good time. Cubbs went home early on the sunday as we have just bought a PC and he wanted to go play. Min_t also cooked a fantastic roast dinner which was just . . YUM also had good lamb burgers made by Scott.
Last weekend I went to Oxford. A work colleague was having her hen night there and so I went after my stupidly early driving lesson. We had some lunch and then went punting on the river. It wasn't sunny but it was pleasant and it was fun watching other people mess about and fall in. Then in the evening we went out for a meal . . . a murder mystery meal where we all had to dress up. We went to this small restaurant which specialised in crepes and it was really nice. I was a "businessman"/gangster character so I was in full suit get up with my Moll in tow!!! It was great fun and the food was great although the restuaant did not allow us to play the tape that came with the game. The bride was there in black velvet flaired catsuit andwe all went for a drink in a local pub afterwards. I then stayed with someone I completely didn't know who was also at the hen night who is a student in Oxford. It was nice but she had work to do on the sunday so left really early but I was able to get ready in my own time and able home.
In between time I'm still working . . in psychiatry. It's nearly over and I guess I'm kinda glad. Not that it's been the busiest job but I just haven't gelled with it and wouldn't do it as a career. I've been doing driving lesson and I've not killed anyone yet so that a plus. Otherwise been to cinema a few times and just done normal boring stuff. I guess I'm making up for it at the weekends.
Also last week was 2nd Xmas for people in the psychiatry department as one of the consultants pointed out that it was unfair for those people who were only there for 6 months. This involved all the junior doctor, note not the consultants, cooking and bringing it in for the lunchtime meeting. Most of my colleagues are not English so we had a wide variety of curries and things. The guys wanted me to cook something English but we decided that it would be too difficult to keep it hot for the lunchtime meeting. I therefore made CAKE. I made 3 cakes across 2 night of thunder storms, 2 fruit cakes and one chocolate cake of doom which is meant to be an alternative to Xmas cake (Cubbs helped a bit with this one). It was a really good meal and we had a quiz. Was really nice and relaxed and the cake went down well.
This weekend I'm in the Wiral at Alice's wedding then I've got a week off where I'm going to Alton Towers and spending time with Cubbs.
Anyway that's been my life for the past little while. I hope to be on LJ more now we have PC and internet but that depends on how much time Cubbs spends on Star Wars Galaxies!!
