Reviewing; My idols Madarame Hiro and Asumiko Nakamura

Sep 12, 2011 12:02

Please excuse my fangirling, but I just can't contain my excitement!

It's confirmed!! There's going to be a drama CD of Madarame Hiro's Scarlet manga!!! /screaming

I found out about this from the ever-lovely Blissful Sin Scans group! Apparently, Madarame-san made a short comic about it, lol! You can download the 8-pages comic from BS's 'M(adarame) Corner'! =^[]^=

But the best thing about it...

HATANO WATARU IS IN IT TOO.

WA-CHAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNN ♥

Now that Madarame-san's report says that the chosen VA's are great, I can't wait to listen to their beautiful voices ♥ ♥ Ahh anything with Wa-chan in it makes it all betterrrr (I was surprised his role is the seme, but well.. IDGAF hee ♥)

Madarame Hiro has been my idol ever since I read her popular series, Kawaii Akuma (Cute Devil). Her art style is very unique!! She uses 'scribbling' style, but she makes it perfectly clean and, well, beautiful! Her water-color-esque coloring is also very pretty, blends very well with her drawings ♥

A page from her manga featuring the main couple, Scarlet:

She has this favorite chracterization of guys with wavy blonde hair. ♥ The first time I read Scarlet, I was really surprised with the seme, Ryou, being a twisted Yandere (and she does it very well) (you know, that particular scene.. eeegh)

But nonetheless, her characters has always had strange personalities \ (- u -);  I mean, look at her crude humour in the manga's! And all that dialogue work, makes me wonder how can the scanlators' cleaners do their work! (I'm still waiting for the next chapters of her latest work Akuma wa Hohoemu (continuation of the 'akuma' series.. eee Hisashi is moe), so I'll be rooting for you, BS scans! chuu!

I'm not sure when's the exact date Scarlet Drama CD's gonna be released, but I hope very soon!

Okieee so that's about Madarame Hiro. Now it's Nakamura Asumiko!

Look at that beautiful art.

The first manga I read from her is called 'Corpenicus Breathing'. It was one of the first BL manga's I had to read a few times from the first chapter!

First off, I absolutely love Nakamura-sensei. Her simple/not too complicated story telling and one-line art is my idea of a good read. The way she does her story telling is magnificient in my opinion. It starts off calm, gives you that every-day feeling. It takes a while for the plot to come in, but reading her manga's teaches you to indulge in the story, really. :>

If you plan to read Corpenicus Breathing, I have to warn you for the amount of dark drama in it. It's pretty much what some people would call it as a 'mind-fuck'.

Off to her happier manga, Doukyuusei series! (it has 3 parts, goes accordingly by Summer, Winter and Spring seasons)

Uguuuuu beautiful art is beautiful ♥

This trilogy is a good read for those who love high-school romance! It's a slice-of-life BL drama, very enjoyable, almost shounen-ai instead of yaoi though! I'd recommend it to anyone who are curious to read a BL manga, and I personally think that it's a great starter for BL-first timers! :D

Nakamura doesn't only do BL manga's though, she does a few shoujo-themes one-shots too. My favorites are I Am A Piano and Adolte and Adarte.

Adolte and Adarte was done in full color. It reminds me of that story, The Prince and the Pauper, except that the Pauper 'left' the Prince. It's a short one-shot, but Nakamura ends it very well and satisfying.

Posting a few oages won't hurt, eh?

The Pauper meets the Prince again after several years. I love how she draws the shock/fear in Adolte's eyes.

Well, that's pretty much all I'd want to review. I wish I can find out more manga authors like these two, because well, sometimes I want to have good reads too, right? ( ∂ w <) / ♥
